The New Gold-Standard In Skincare for Aging & Damaged Skin...and the science proves it.

LEX & JONG presents comprehensive clinical data on the proprietary HMG Complex found in SYNERGIST with a synergistic combination of some of the most advanced ingredients known in dermatological science today, that addresses multiple concerns of aging skin, head-on.

In the cosmeceutical industry, the on-going quest for the latest technology to address aging skin concerns has led to an explosive introduction of new ingredients. Most notably, the emerging evidence of the benefit of conditioned media derived products. The excitement around this technology also raises questions surrounding a few concerns; long-term safety, where these growth factors are derived, and the lack of individual ingredient data to support these high-performance ingredients provide comprehensive clinical dermal and epidermal skin rejuvenation. Synergist HMG Complex is the byproduct of extensive research to offer a complete growth factor-based, comprehensive product to address multiple concerns for aging and damaged skin. This unique complex includes a selective pairing of human adipose stromal cells and human neonatal fibroblast conditioned media, along with a potent combination of skin restorative ingredients such as Swertia Chirata Leaf Extract, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Ubiquinone (CoEnzyme Q10), Squalane, and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride.

Human Adipose Stromal Cell Combined with Human Neonatal Fibroblast Conditioned Media

This exclusive formulation, which includes HMG Complex, leverages a synergistic combination, derived from neonatal fibroblasts and adipose extracted from a healthy adult donor. It provides a discerning assay of growth factors and cytokines to achieve an unmatched 540 proteins designated for efficacy and downregulation of inflammatory pathways. A majority of the proteins uncovered in the conditioned media are responsible for various cell functions such as skin cell growth, skin reconstruction and regeneration, and rejuvenation of aging cells. This next-generation growth factor combination utilizes the best of science, along with selective proteins, to mitigate safety concerns with enhanced efficacy. Protein pathway analysis determines what kind of cellular/molecular function mechanisms contribute to improving skin. This analysis identifies three functional groups found in abundance; hemostasis, extracellular matrix organization, and smooth muscle contraction, all of which are essential contributors to help fight and improve aging skin conditions.

Samples collected from adult human fibroblast cells are nutritiously deprived for six days and evaluated over 24 hours to visually demonstrate the benefits of using the conditioned media complex found in Synergist HMG Complex. The deprivation was able to replicate stressed or injured human skin cells. All imagery was captured by using inverted fluorescence microscopy and a high-resolution video camera. As depicted, those cells treated with the conditioned media found in Synergist HMG Complex grew back more robust and healthier than those in the negative control group.

Gene expression also identifies how native skin cells respond at a molecular level by applying this innovative growth factor complex to the skin. One of the most exciting discoveries is the upregulation of the tumor-suppression gene. The upregulation of cosmetically-relevant genes, antioxidant protectors, and a cell senescent protector gene is also essential. At the same time, both tumor-promoting genes and DNA damage protection genes are down-regulated. This finding naturally led to further investigation, specifically looking at the effect of this novel growth factor complex on aggressive cancer growth cells. The combination of both growth factors demonstrates significantly increasing fibroblast growth while providing evidence that the development of melanoma cells did not reach statistical significance and grew slower than expected for skin cancer cells growing in a typical environment. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, The Logical Peptide Growth Factor Partner

The benefit of a few peptides on aging skin is well known. Because not all peptides are equal, the objective with the Synergist HMG Complex formulation is to select a peptide by its ability to function in tandem with the human adipose stromal cell, combined with human neonatal fibroblast conditioned media. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 has the ability to boost tissue growth factor-beta (TGF-β). Studies show, with just the Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 present, a 76% increase of collagen within the skin.

Swertia Chirata Leaf Extract, A Naturally-Derived Ingredient With Proven Powerful Benefits on Aging & Damaged Skin

Swertia Chirata is an Indian herb, used in Ayurvedic medicine and found in the high hills of the Himalayas, that functions as a skin penetration promotor and is clinically proven to stimulate healthy stem cells and growth factor production. The integration of this ingredient in the Synergist HMG Complex purposely addresses many of the hallmark signs of aging by stimulating epidermal regeneration and epidermal thickness by increasing the keratinocyte growth factor production. In as little as seven days, the appearance of vertical wrinkles blur, a visible improvement in the skin's texture, and a more vibrant and youthful appearance evident. (3)

Tetrahexyldecyl (THD) Ascorbate & Tocopheryl Acetate

Antioxidants remain a fundamental tool in anti-aging benefits and age prevention. The HMG Complex leverages antioxidants that multifunction as powerful and proven free radical scavengers and as standalone anti-aging ingredients. Tetrahexyldecyl (THD) Ascorbate is rapidly becoming a gold-standard antioxidant as an oil-soluble vitamin C ester known for stability with an antioxidant reservoir effect for longer last protection, specifically against UVA and UVB damage. With its compelling brightening data, THD Ascorbate has additional benefits that make it an essential consideration for photoaging skin. (4) Synergist HMG Complex combines THD Ascorbate with another antioxidant heavy hitter, Tocopheryl Acetate. This stabilized form of vitamin E is an essential antioxidant proven to accelerate re-epithelialization, impart anti-inflammatory properties, inhibit MMP1 expression in mature skin, and increase water retaining ability in the stratum corneum. Ubiquinone (CoEnzyme Q10) + Squalane + Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides

Today there is a greater understanding of the importance of limiting barrier disruption when addressing aged skin. Synergist HMG Complex utilizes Ubiquinone, Squalane, Caprylic, and Capric Triglycerides to aid in vital functions of the skin. These ingredients address the barrier function of surface lipids, maintain the protective barrier, prevent trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), and keep the skin properly balanced and hydrated. Ubiquinone is a powerful antioxidant naturally found in cells proven to protect skin surface lipids from oxidative stress. Additionally, Ubiquinone provides essential energy to skin cells and stabilizes cell membranes. A hydrogenated form of Squalane is a skin-mimicking ingredient derived from olives, effectively replenishing skin lipids. Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, derived from coconut and glycerin, mimic the healthy skin's fatty acids. (6)(7)(8)
